Here’s a comprehensive list of wedding photography FAQs. If there’s anything you have on your mind that is not listed here, or is not detailed enough, please feel free to get in touch!

Because it’s 2017, we assume you already know what candid photography is but there is always a difference. Lets talk about why it matters and how our work is different from another school of candid photography that exists too (that we call it the ‘easy’ candid).

A lot of people attend weddings, all decked up, trying to look their best. Therefore, with the right camera and lens, one can easily click hundreds and thousands of candid photographs of different people. In fact, we did that a lot when we started off. The pictures looked great! Moments were candid. And we were happy. But after a while, something was obvious. These photographs were telling very little about what a wedding is really about.

Weddings are about interactions mostly!

A laughing face tells you that a person is enjoying. Teary eyes tells you that a person is crying. But weddings are not about any one person; not even about just the couple. Weddings are about a lot of people coming together to witness something special. And when people come together, they interact. And that’s why they laugh. Or cry. And that’s why we care about capturing that so much. You have to check our Stories to see what it looks like!

Our photos and films are tailored to your wedding, and so is our crew. We have a great team who share the same taste of capturing emotions . We wouldn't compromise on our output and hence you can trust our instinct. You can still check our core members here.
We use whatever it takes to get you stunning photos. We have a long list of equipment we shoot each weddings with and choose them based on venue/lights. This includes full-frame cameras, fast lenses, all forms of off-camera lighting, remote lighting equipment, props, stands, monopods…all of which is updated and changed constantly. Incase if you’re interested in checking with our specific equipment, check here.
Wedding cinema has evolved a lot over the last few years. We try to tell your story in our cinematic series which will perfectly complement your wedding album. Typical deliverable include a wedding trailer (5-6 mins), and a full 60-80 minute wedding movie — all in brilliant high definition video. Click here to open a showcase of some of our recent wedding movies.
Our experiences, gathered over the years, have accustomed us with many reputed venues and different locations. Our core assignment fees will remain the same but out-of-station assignments will have an extra travel and lodging charges associated.
Many photographers approach this differently. We do not believe in setting a limit on the number of hours we would be available for you during a wedding. Indian weddings don’t run as per a schedule (though there always is one!) and things do tend to over schedule at times. We usually charge by the day but there are few limitations which you can check here. We do charge extra however, if your ceremonies are scheduled very late into the night (like 4 am 'pheras') which are treated as the next day.
We do not limit the number of images we shoot during a wedding . The kind of work we do results in a number of rejected photos – bad expressions, bad lighting, distractions in the frame and so on. Each selected photos are color corrected and balanced to tell a story if needed and marked for final delivery. On average, we deliver between 400-600 images from a two-three day wedding This will be more than sufficient for you to relive your wedding, frame by frame.
Oh yes, surely! See, in a wedding not every shot taken is a masterpiece. Many don’t have the perfect focus, many don’t have the story, in some the light is obscure, in some your facial profile isn’t the very best and in some, it’s just the mood that’s not right. So we always make it a point to snap more than needed, so as to rummage and find out the perfect ones to make it to your wedding photo album. Now we value your time, really! So instead of putting it all on you, we have decided to shoulder the responsibility of doing the hard work and selecting the most candid and perfect shots for you to treasure.

We understand you being impatient. But if you want to hear from us, every assignments has thousand of photographs and clips that goes under few processes like sorting, color grading and so on... So it may take a while.

For Photo-albums, once you have shared with us the file names of the photographs shortlisted for printing, we will do the layout and once the layout is finalized (and made the full payment), we will get the Book printed by Canvera – they will directly ship it (free of cost) to any Indian address that you provide (in about a week’s time).

We usually deliver within 3 months of the assignments. But we've been told it's worth the wait!

Currently we are tied up with Canvera for their quality of the pages and style. We provide Flushmount Albums from Canvera which suits our style of Photography which is mostly candid moments as we believe its the end product which will stay with you forever. Flushmount albums are thick , flat and do not have cut in between and looks great when candid moments are displayed in it.The sizes are typically (12" x 15") or (12" x 18"). Album
Yes you may. We have a set number of pages and photos for it that we will let you know about if and when you place the order. Any addition to that will be chargeable.
Our signature TWF album contains 25-30 sheets and 130-150 +/- images. If you’d like to add more pages and images, each additional page can be added at additional cost and includes the design time/revisions.
We may ! If your wedding results in terrific wedding photos (and we are sure it will!), we would love to share those pictures on our personal portfolio website and social channels as examples of great work we’ve done, so that other couples may also be inspired from your wedding. Should you specifically NOT want us to disclose your wedding photos on my personal channels, let me know before hand. There is no official policy on how to approach these situations, and there may be a middle ground we can work out.
Of course you may! We pride ourselves on the consistency of our work. We understand all photographers post their best shots from each wedding on their websites so it’s hard to determine how well he or she will perform on the wedding day. That is why we encourage all of our potential clients to view full events from all photographers they meet with to see how well the photographer performs throughout the day. We,TWF have a dedicated section in our website and we would love to show you the Storieswe have covered so far.
Yes, we absolutely do! As a matter of fact, we highly recommend hiring just us to shoot both the groom’s and the bride’s family. It’s an absolute waste of resources to have two separate teams to cover essentially the same thing. We have enough resources in-house to be able to cover your entire wedding from start to finish. To know more about how we do that, see our Stories!
Sooner the better. We take only one wedding at any particular day. Its a creative work and we try to maintain our quality of work in each of the wedding we take up and make sure there is a specific team for it. So you have to book us before someone else does.
Not at all. Just a simple signing of the contract and a token deposit will have us booked for your event. However if it is a busy season, we advise you to do this well in advance. The terms and conditions include a) No refund of the token amount on cancellation of the engagement/wedding b) For a change of date, the already deposited token amount will continue to serve as the guarantee. No extra money will be asked of you to be deposited as the token amount (provided we are free on that date). c) However the charges of the package might increase if the rates change for the future dates.
This is a standard question, and it’s a valid one The reason is that we will be booking our full day to be available for you, and therefore lose out on other potential assignments we could have shot that day.
We try our best to fit you in our pricing packages, but making film and capturing those moments is a difficult and expensive activity and we do not like compromising on our equipment or talents!
We would love to meet with you prior to our engagement shoot or wedding; however, if you’re too busy or too far away, we can handle everything remotely. Just let us know what information you need and we will do our best to accommodate your request. For example, if you would like to see more of our work, we can gladly show you complete events online. If you would like to talk about packages and get a sense of the photographer’s personality, telephone calls, and webcam appointments can be arranged.
We usually take 30% of the Package cost as an advance to reserve our dates for your event. The next 40% is generally after the event dates. And the rest 30% is taken when the film is previewed or the album is print ready.
Unfortunately no. Retainer fees are used to reserve your date(s). Once we’ve reserved your date(s), we do not accept new clients for that particular date(s).
